Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

As of today, Fields Senior Living communities remain free of COVID-19. Our team members across Fields Senior Living Communities have been executing prevention and infection control protocols, and they are prepared and committed to continuing to provide excellent care and services to our residents to keep them safe and healthy. We so appreciate their commitment and hard work.   Leadership is keeping a close eye on CDC, Public Health and Licensing updates to assure all recommended and required protocols are implemented and in place.  To date the following protocols, remain in effect:

  • Frequent monitoring of residents and staff for signs of infection.
  • Enhanced deep cleaning /sterilization protocols in each community.
  • Bolstering our supply of personal protective equipment (gloves, masks, gowns, wipes, sanitizers, etc.)
  • Cancelling Social Activities provided by outside vendors
  • Cancelling Marketing Events
  • Cancelling beautician services
  •  Limiting and/ or restricting visits to essential visits only and screening all essential visitors including team members for risk factors related to coronavirus. Screening includes temperature, pulse oximeter and a questionnaire.
  • Requesting residents or team members exposed to a high-risk environment to self- isolate for 10 days symptom free per updated CDC guidelines
  • Fortifying our food, beverage supplies, as well as paper products for foodservice, should the need arise.
  • Cancelling transportation services, apart from necessary medical appointments

Additionally, we anticipate based on recent information disseminated from CDC, Public Health, and other regulatory agencies that COVID 19 testing of residents and employees of Senior Living Communities will be rolled out.  We will cooperate fully with these efforts as an additional means of assuring the health and safety for our team members and the individuals we are trusted to care for.

We are thankful for the patience our residents and their families have with the temporary restrictions in our communities, and we look forward to progressing through re-opening protocols, as it becomes safe to do so.  Because seniors are in a high-risk category for COVID-19, restrictions in senior living communities are typically not relaxed until final phases of the federal, state, and county openings. These restrictions are in place for the health and safety of our residents and team members and they continue to be very creative, ensuring we keep residents socially engaged, while maintaining social distancing.

As we continue to move through various phases of re-opening in our communities, we request that you continue to stay vigilant in adhering to the protocols initiated at the community level.  Now is the time to continue to stay focused on assuring the health and safety of our residents and team members.  Please continue to respect the visitation guidelines and protocols that have been implemented.

Do not hesitate to contact your Executive Director to discuss any questions, concerns or feedback that you have.  We will continue to regularly update you as this situation evolves.  Caring for Seniors is our passion and privilege and we so appreciate your trust.

Sincerely,

Dear Residents, Families, and Friends of Fields Senior Living,

Over the past weeks and months, we have implemented safety protocols across our communities based on recommendations of the CDC, Public Health, and our Regulatory Agencies.  We appreciate what a difficult time this is and cannot say thank you enough for your support.  Due to the diligent efforts of our staff and your cooperation with our protocols we remain free of any cases of COVID-19 in our communities.

We take the trust you have placed in us very seriously and we are honored to serve you.  So many of you have made the time to show your appreciation for our efforts with donations of hand-crafted masks, gowns, or taking the time to write a thoughtful card or post a positive comment on Facebook and we want you to know these kind gestures have really kept morale high among our essential workers!!

Our communities have gotten creative and worked hard to keep spirits high and hopeful!! Door to door happy hour, car parades, outdoor concerts, care packages, FaceTime with family and window visits!!  We have had the opportunity to share so many meaningful moments. This is what drives us!   We are passionate about what we do and strive very hard to Make Every Day Count!!!  Thank you all for being a part of making this very difficult time better and an opportunity to give our residents the special care and attention they need and deserve.

As we look forward to various phases of returning to a new normal, we ask that you continue to support our efforts to keep everyone safe and healthy.  We anticipate that as our local communities begin to reduce restrictions across various sectors that our operations will likely need to continue to follow stricter guidelines and protocols than the general public due to the vulnerable population we serve.

Enforcing our essential visitor policy remains an essential component to keeping our communities free of COVID-19.  We will continue to work with you and find creative and thoughtful ways to keep you connected.  We appreciate your continued cooperation with all our efforts to assure the health and well-being of our residents and staff.

Please feel free to reach out at any time to ask a question, discuss concerns, or offer feedback.  Thank you for the privilege to serve you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,

Dustin Fields

As of today, we remain blessed and have no cases of COVID-19 in any of our communities. We are extremely grateful for this and will continue to follow protocols from the CDC, Public Health and our regulatory agencies.  Protocols include prohibiting non-essential visitors from entering our communities, screening all essential visitors including team members and staggering our dining service to allow for appropriate personal distance. We will continue to monitor everyone for symptoms of the virus, encourage frequent handwashing and providing our team members with appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).

While we understand that these times can be tough and uncertain, we want our residents and their family members to know that we are here for them and consider each of our residents to be family members of our own. We know that it is difficult to not have loved ones visit residents at the community. This is only a temporary situation to best protect our residents from the spread of COVID-19. We are so looking forward to the days of having friends and family come visit again and resuming our outings and large events at the communities. We are happy to report that our communities are in high spirits while they make the best out of this unique situation.  We remain committed to facilitating communication for our residents and their family members.

Thank you for your continued patience, understanding and for your positive comments and encouragement during this difficult time. Feedback is a gift and our team members truly appreciate your support. Thank you for making the time to provide positive feedback.

We will get through this together!!

Updated: 3/27/2020 – 3:00 PM PST

As we work to maintain open lines of communication for our residents and the families we serve, we will continue posting periodic updates.

We cannot express the tremendous appreciation and respect for our team members who are selflessly working every day for the benefit of our residents. We have the highest confidence that during this difficult time, our communities are as prepared and focused as they possibly can be.

We continue to follow all state mandates and CDC guidelines in all of our locations and we have comprehensive plans put in place not only to protect our residents and team members but also to continue providing the best quality of life possible for our staff and residents.

We all feel the disconnect from normal communication and the disappointment from being unable to have close contact with our families and loved ones.  Our team members are trying to creatively bridge this gap utilizing technology to orchestrate virtual contact, face-time calls, skype, zoom and more.

We ask that you help us by following our current protocols.  Please no visiting in person unless critically important or for an end of life situation. If a visit is absolutely necessary or to find out more about our virtual options or events, please contact your communities Executive Director and stay tuned to our website and facebook.

UPDATE 3/16/2020 – 5:00 PM PST

The COVID-19 situation is very fluid and changes occur daily, if not hourly.  We remain vigilant and on high alert. This situation and the safety of our residents and staff is our highest priority.

Please support our efforts to prevent the spread of the virus by following the protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the recommendations by our local, state and federal government and health officials.

Effective immediately:

  • Only essential visits will be allowed, such as those by hospice and homecare providers.
  • Visits by family members and other non-essential personnel must receive prior approval from the community’s Executive Director.  No children at this time.
  • All staff and visitors shall enter the community through the main entrance only. Staff and visitors will be pre-screened for risk factors upon arrival to the community, including temperatures taken.
  • Staggering meal services so personal distance recommendations can be adhered to.
  • Limiting in-house social activities to small groups that allow for appropriate social distancing (6 feet).
  • Suspending transportation services with the exception of essential medical appointments.
  • Canceling beauty shop services until further notice.

This means that in-person visits with friends and family members residing at the community will be extremely limited.  We know these protocols can be inconvenient and disruptive for us all.  However, we ask you for your patience as these steps are necessary and in some cases mandatory for the health and safety of our residents and staff.

As protocols and recommendations may change, we will provide real-time updates on our community websites and Facebook pages.

UPDATE 3/9/2020 5:00PM PST

Dear Residents and Families of Fields Senior Living Communities,

The coronavirus has our full attention. Many organizations are taking steps to prepare for potential outbreaks. We at Fields Senior Living are no exception, particularly since we care for a population of vulnerable adults who rely on us for care and services.  Our highest priority is always the health and safety of our residents and those who care for our residents.

While the virus has been identified in our home state of Washington and other states where we operate, as of today none of our residents or staff have tested positive.  We are monitoring and if this situation changes we will provide the notification.

We have taken or are taking the following measures to ward against infection or transmission:

  • As of Tuesday, February 25, all Fields Senior Living Communities are following the CDC protocols for coronavirus, the protocols were updated on March 1, 2020, in accordance with updated CDC guidelines.
  • Ongoing and enhanced monitoring of residents and staff for signs of infection.
  • Enhanced deep cleaning /sterilization protocols in each community.
  • Bolstering our supply of personal protective equipment (gloves, masks, gowns, wipes, sanitizers, etc.)
  • Reduced the normal or typical number of social activities provided by outside vendors.
  • Until further notice, asking family or visitors to limit or restrict visits to essential visits only and then to follow infection control protocols posted in each community.
  • Asking anyone exposed to coronavirus to stay away from the community until the 14-day incubation period has lapsed without symptoms.
  • The CDC has identified China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Iran as high-risk areas --  we are asking anyone who has traveled from high-risk areas, or anyone in contact with such persons, to stay away from our communities.
  • Fortifying our food, beverage supplies, as well as paper products for foodservice, should the need arise.
  • Canceling all non-essential business travel for our leadership team.
  • We are asking that everyone in our communities engage in basic infection control practices such as frequent and thorough hand washing and avoiding the expulsion of bodily fluids through unguarded coughing or sneezing
  • All Staff retraining on in-place infection control protocols.

Please know that as the owner of Fields Senior Living Communities and on behalf of our entire leadership team, we each are personally and deeply involved in this process.  In closing, let me restate that we are on high alert.  As always, we are honored to serve you, and together we will work through whatever challenges come our way.
