Our Family Legacy
In 1958 Emmett and Alice Koelsch, our grandparents, pioneered our family’s beginnings in the senior housing industry. It began with their very first nursing home, The Monticello Hall, in Kelso, Washington. Between Emmett and Alice working together, their partnership went on to build the first assisted living community in the Pacific Northwest, Delaware Plaza.Their legacy has been passed on to their children who own and operate independent living, assisted living and memory care communities across the country. In 1989, our parents, Dr. Larry Bunn and Nancy Bunn Munro, continued the legacy developing and designing the first Assisted Living Community in Tacoma, WA., Weatherly Inn. Fueled by Larry’s pioneering vision, combined with Nancy’s creative design, their communities in the Puget Sound have become a benchmark in the senior-housing industry.
